Born out of a young man’s curiosity for what coffee could really taste like, Sira is not just a brand—it’s a journey. The coffee journey for Sira Coffee Co. began in 2016, when founder, Collin Griffeth, fresh out of college and living with a bunch of roommates in Central Florida, started exploring local coffee shops. What he discovered was a whole new world—coffee didn’t have to be just bitter mud water. It could be vibrant, flavorful, and even delicious without all the milk and sugar (though, of course, if you like your coffee that way, it’s all good!). It was in these early days that the foundation of Sira Coffee Co. was laid—not just as a business, but as a personal passion for coffee done right.

That same year, a furball named Sira came into Griffeth’s life—a crazy little Husky/Shepherd mix who would go on to inspire the company’s name. While discovering the nuances of coffee, he was also learning about unconditional love, responsibility, and companionship, all thanks to his loyal pup. It’s clear that the love for Sira goes beyond the beans—this company is built on values of care, consistency, and the joy of nurturing something over time.

A few years later, after moving back to Southern Connecticut, the coffee journey deepened even further. By working at Willoughby’s, a well-respected local coffee shop and roastery, Griffeth was able to immerse himself in the world of coffee roasting and connect with a talented team of baristas and roasters. Every day was a lesson—learning the craft, developing the palate, and growing in the art of creating a perfect cup.

But like any great story, change was on the horizon. After taking a leap of faith, he purchased his own roaster and spent a winter rediscovering everything he had learned—and more. The result? Lots and lots of coffee roasted with care and passion. In fact, there was so much coffee that the early days were all about sharing the bounty with family, friends, and neighbors.
